Karmaveer Puraskaar recognises INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS from various sectors for excellence and best practices in promoting social justice & action in their sector/ environment by being and leading the change. The idea behind these awards is to nominate and select citizens in the corporate, government, media, SME, students & other sectors who have contributed to social justice & action by going beyond BUSINESS as USUAL and thus been the change that they want to see in the world. The award is only bestowed on individual citizens and is not meant for any organization.

These Karmaveer Awardees are committed to continue their good work "Karma" in this generation "Yug", thus leading the change they want to see and inspiring others to follow the same. Karmayug is based on the notion of leading the change by being the change yourself. It could be about planting trees in one's neighbourhood, feeding milk to stray dogs in the locality, addressing people who eve tease, refusing to pay a bribe to the traffic cop, filing a RTI against some wrongs, donating blood, pledging your organs or anything small or big you may want to do to right a wrong, anytime throughout the year and post the same on the website so that more people follow your example and we reach the tipping point where everyone gets together to RIGHT every WRONG.

A RIGHT every WRONG conclave with the theme Confronting the Challenge of Combating Corruption and Related Issues will follow the award ceremony. This year's RIGHT every WRONG Conclave will focus on the growing ill-effects of the virus that is Corruption, the consequences and the need to fight corruption in India and will be addressed by the Karmaveer awardees. This is an endeavour to get an insight into the evil of corruption that rests in our judicial and political system.

Karmaveer Puraskaar Awardees are the citizens who are the real heroes in a real world in reality. They are the people who exercise the power of ONE to try and RIGHT a WRONG and thus create a responsible citizenship by coming together as ONE and the 100 best examples shall be chosen for the KARMAVEER CHAKRA every year. The main idea is to showcase real heroes to inspire more real world heroes. The core charter is to encourage citizen action through the people sector for social justice by mainstreaming social initiatives.

Some eminent personalities like Kajol, Lushin Dubey, Geeta Chandran, Pritish Nandy, Verghese Kurien, Anu Aga, Prof. Swaminathan, Pamela Gale Malhotra, Ajay Bijli from backgrounds such as films, music, art, business, sports etc. have received this prestigious award during the last 3 years.

These awards are given to those who dream and work to change, who practice Philanthropy for social justice i.e. not by JUST GIVING a little money but by investing justly and getting involved to understand social issues and trying personally with others to RIGHT every WRONG thus making a difference for the cause. The belief is that it is not charity but justice that is wanting in the world and that the few people who dream & do can BE THE CHANGE. iCONGO also thanks AT & T and NCFH Ministry of Home Affairs for partnering and taking the awards to the next level.
